Fun Content Ahead

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010

So I have lots of fun content coming from the recent  Harvest of Hope festival.  Technical issues and overall craziness have put me a bit behind, but I am planning on getting it up pronto.  I took some great pictures and did some interviews on what goes into putting on a festival like Harvest of Hope.  For now, enjoy this of Mucca Pazza from Sunday.  This band is a hoot live!  Look for highlights from an interview with members of Mucca Pazza too!

Off to Harvest of Hope!

Friday, March 12th, 2010

I’m off to Harvest of Hope for 3 days of fun and music, all for a good cause.   The monsoon seems to have subsided, but I packed my rain boots just in case.   Doing some interviews while I’m at HOH for the blog, stay tuned for those.

Welcome to The PunkLawyer Blog!

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

Hi there!  Welcome to the PunkLawyer Blog.  I’m Chrissie, a.k.a. PunkLawyer, as some of you may know me from Twitter.  I’m a punk, ska, and indie music fanatic who also happens to be an entertainment, new media, and intellectual property lawyer.  Actually, it’s the music that brought me to the law and got me through the crazy world of law school.  My passion is empowering and counseling creators to further their ideas and protect their rights as they navigate the entertainment industry.  My goal with this blog is to provide insight into entertainment, intellectual property, technology, and new media law with the independent scene in mind.  In addition to my insights, I also plan on including interviews with the people behind some of your favorite songs, labels, and festivals.   Throw in the occasional hair metal or sports post and you’ve got this blog.  I want to engage with you, so feel free to comment and send me questions or suggestions for what you would like to read about here, new music to listen to, you get the idea.   Let’s try to keep it civil though.  So let’s get this journey started, as the Bouncing Souls say here we go, here we go, here we gooooo!
